We have spent many years formulating and testing our compost based potting mix blend. This blend is the heart of our exceptional germination, strong growth, and healthy plant production. We start with a manure based compost that is packed with natural fertilizers. A balance of natural slow release nutrients is added to the mix to ensure the long term viability of the plants. Compost tea is incorporated into the mix to enhance the activity of microorganisms which assist plants in the uptake of essential nutrients and ensure the plant has the best capability to ward off diseases and pests. We mix it for just the right amount of time to ensure proper aeration. I can't tell you to much about the ingredients or procedures...it's a secret. Use it to start your own plants from seed or to supplement healthy growth of plants you purchased elsewhere (West Star Farm plants already use the potting mix blend).

Our potting mix is available in 20qt bags or by the 5 gallon bucket. Please bring your own container if buying by the 5 gallon bucket.
WSF Compost
We also provide our compost for sale in 20qt bags or by the 5 gallon bucket at the Organic Garden Center on the farm. Please bring your own container if you want the compost by the bucket.
