What is CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) creates a direct relationship between you and your farm. You pick up weekly shares of fresh, in-season produce grown right at the farm, while supporting an alternative to conventional agribusiness. You’ll know your produce dollar goes directly to the people who plant, tend and harvest your food.

Members know exactly where and how their produce is grown. CSA is an opportunity to connect in a meaningful way with others who care about the food we eat and the planet we share.

In bountiful years, members reap the abundance. In difficult years, members share the risks of scarcity. The risks are minimal because of the size and rich diversity of West Star Farm

2010 Share Information

Our CSA season will begin mid-June and will be 20 weeks long.  We will offer family shares at $560.  If you need an idea of how much food a family share is, check out last year's CSA Newsletters below, there is a list of produce items that were in each share.  Pickup is at our farm on Thursday's from 12-7pm.  Our on Farm Market will also be open during pickup time if you would like to purchase additional items.  Members will pick up their produce in a buffet style manner in the upper level of our barn.  There will be opportunities to exchange produce between members.

We are not offering half shares or every-other-week shares, but if you are interested in either of these, we encourage you to try and find a friend, neighbor, or co-worker who is also interested and share your membership with them.

Membership will be on a first come, first serve basis using the postmark date from the envelope/ sign-up form you send in.
