Farm History

The landscape of West Star Farm was formed about 16,000 years ago during the Ice Age by a glacier that bulldozed across much of the Wisconsin landscape.  Owners, George and Sandy Kohn bought the farm back in 1993.  They started West Star Farm in 1997 and it became certified organic in 1999.  Since then, they have added a large shed for equipment storage and three greenhouses.  The West Star Farm nutrient-rich clay-loam soils in the deposit area of the glacier are organically managed to produce delicious vegetables and beautiful flowers.  The farm includes a wood (with a walking trail), a pasture, an old farmhouse and of course, a barn and silo.
